Coniston Co-op is an independent Cooperative Society that has been catering for the needs and providing an essential service for the local community and visitors to the village and surrounding area for more than 100 years.
We are proud of our independence. The business is run by a team of voluntary non paid directors and paid full and part time staff in exactly the way our founders envisaged so many years ago. The Co-op is owned solely by its members and still pays a dividend at the end of the financial year out of the profits gained by the society.
Not that we are ‘old fashioned’ in any way. We have an up to date premises packed with competitively priced foods and beverages.
Coniston Co-op is a small but successful co-operative society which serves the needs of the village in the heart of the Lake District. An area of natural beauty traditionally known for quarrying, farming and tourism.
The shop has a large grocery section selling national and the co-op own brands. You’ll find the best in fruit and vegetables, grown locally and from other parts of the world, plus an excellent chilled foods selection including a wide selection of meats.
The Coniston Co-op also continues to provide a free delivery service and operates a simple system for orders.
